Wild West theme at Silverton Market – 4th August

27th July 2018

On the 4th August, the annual Silverton Street Market will be held featuring a wide range of stalls and entertainment, all packed into the picturesque Devon village.

This year’s theme is ‘Wild South West’ and is expected to feature a variety of fun activities including bucking broncos, fancy dress and country and western music. The day is a vital fixture in the village’s social calendar and is run thanks to a team of volunteers who work tirelessly throughout the year, and thanks to the support of sponsors such as Gilbert Stephens Solicitors.

The Silverton Street Market is an important hub for community activities and the day will provide entertainment and showcase local food and drink producers, Gilbert Stephens Solicitors are proud to sponsor the event.

Acknowledging the value of the market, Terry Bastyan, Managing Partner at Gilbert Stephens Solicitors, stated that “the Silverton Street Market is such an important fixture in the local events calendar and it is vital that it receives support from businesses such as ours. The contribution the event makes to local charities is clear, so to sponsor the day was an easy decision to take.”

Sheila Woodland will be attending the market with Dana Mulligan, both are looking forward to it. Sheila, who in 2019 will have been the Parish Clerk for 40 years so knows the village well, said: “Silverton is a beautiful village with a great sense of community, I am very much looking forward to being involved on the day and hope to be sporting a new cowboy hat, the bucking bronco may be a step too far but I am sure Dana will be giving it her best shot!”

The market will run from 10am to 5pm. Dubbed “the best value day-out in Devon”, entrance to the market is just £2.50 per adult and 50p per child. There will be lots of free parking in the village.
