First Registrations of Title

For many years now certain transactions have triggered compulsory registration of title with HM Land Registry in England and Wales. These transactions include purchases, mortgages or transfer to a beneficiary under a Will. This has meant a large proportion of land has been registered. If our firm hold title deeds for you already or even if we do not, our team of experts can usually find out quite easily whether title registration has taken place.

There are many advantages in getting title to your property registered.

  • Once registered you cannot lose your title deeds as copies are available on-line
  • It is much more difficult for a neighbour or third party to claim land you own or rights over it
  • It is easier to sell your property as a number of conveyancers require registration before committing buyers to a purchase
