Exeter Property Circle Karime Hassan

Karime Hassan speaks at Exeter Property Circle’s February Event

24th February 2020

On Thursday 20th February, Gilbert Stephens Solicitors were happy to attend Exeter Property Circle’s bi-monthly networking event at Exeter’s unique Californian restaurant and bar, Pink Moon. Martin Pratley, Head of our Conveyancing Department, was pleased to attend and connect with new property professionals on behalf of the firm.

The Exeter Property Circle was first established by staff at the firm to include Dana Mulligan, Marketing Manager, Sarah Heath and Antonia D’Alessio, Chartered Legal Executives. The objective of every event is to offer networking opportunities for property experts within the Exeter area. It was a fantastic evening for the committee last week as they hosted their most well-attended event yet, with just over one hundred guests!

On this occasion, the Exeter Property Circle were thrilled to welcome back Karime Hassan to the stage as their guest speaker. Karime is Exeter City Council’s Chief Executive and Growth Director and spoke at the very first Exeter Property Circle event back in September 2018. It was great to welcome him back!

In his speech, Karime was proud to remind property professionals of the excellent economic growth Exeter has experienced over the last couple years. He surprised guests with the fact that Exeter is the only City in the UK to be awarded UNESCO City of Literature status, alongside the fact that Exeter is the most active City in the Country. Karime shared that in an aim to reduce carbon emissions, the City will be enforcing strict sanctions against car usage this year. To support this, Exeter City Council will be implementing new initiatives to support this to include a cycle to work scheme.

Congratulations to Gill Vosper from Absolute PR & Marketing for winning the raffle prize! Gill won a gift voucher for two at Pink Moon for their famous Taco Wednesday.

The Exeter Property Circle are looking forward to catching up with many more property professionals at their next event with speaker ARLA President, Phil Keddie, at Lloyd’s Lounge. If you work in the property sector and would like to come along, you can book on to the event here.
