Everything Okehampton Gala Dinner

Gilbert Stephens Solicitors were delighted to attend the Okehampton Gala Dinner on Friday 11^th October, at Charter Hall in the heart of Okehampton. The black-tie event was organised by Everything Okehampton to raise much needed funds for the towns annual Okehampton Carnival and legendary Christmas lights.

Linda Jewell, Legal Assistant from our Okehampton office, and her husband, Alan, attended on behalf of Gilbert Stephens. The tickets included a sumptuous two course meal with prosecco on arrival.

This wonderful fundraising event featured mind blowing entertainment from the phenomenal close-up magician Chris Acton. Guests enjoyed witnessing Chris’ sleight of hand, pickpocketing, mind reading, and comedy as everyone was equally impressed and amused by his tricks!

Linda says “we had a lovely evening with excellent food served by Oak Tree Occasions. Chris Acton was brilliant and really did leave us astounded – we are still wondering how he did a few of his tricks!”.

All proceeds raised will go towards two very important events in the Okehampton calendar. Firstly, the Okehampton Carnival, which is a traditional family fun day where lots of brightly coloured costumes and superbly decorated carnival floats take to the streets. Secondly, the Christmas lights, which are truly spectacular and have a real wow factor that is envied throughout Devon and beyond. Over one hundred real Christmas trees, individually decorated and lit, adorn the town alongside commercial LED cross-street and column-mount decorations throughout the town centre.

Gilbert Stephens look forward to these future Okehampton events and are delighted that the evening was in support of the local community.
