Scarecrow Festival Gilbert Stephens Solicitors Budleigh Salterton

Budleigh Salterton Scarecrow Festival

3rd June 2019

Gilbert Stephens Solicitors are proud to be a part of the East Budleigh Scarecrow Festival again this year. Friends of All Saints Church are once again coordinating the famous Scarecrow Festival. Over the two days, a variety of events will take place around the village to raise funds to maintain the church and churchyard.

We are sponsoring the Art Preview at Drake’s Church of England Primary School on Friday 7th June at 7pm. This is a great chance for local artists to showcase their work.

We will also be sponsoring the Venue Trail, which will guide visitors through all the festival to find all the scarecrows, collecting stamps at each venue, with prizes for successful scarecrow hunters. The weekend is a great opportunity for a number of community organisations to join forces and raise money for a variety of good causes, so Gilbert Stephens is proud to contribute towards it.

The Scarecrow Festival is an important fixture in the social calendar of the local community and it is known for the energy and variety the event brings to the village. Previous festivals have attracted visitors from around the country and featured around 200 scarecrows. The festival raises a substantial sum each year that goes towards repairing the Church.

Gilbert Stephens will be displaying two of the scarecrows in our Budleigh Salterton office for a week, beginning on Thursday 23rd May. Terry Bastyan, Managing Partner at Gilbert Stephens, said “the Scarecrow Festival is such a distinctive and colourful collection of events. It is obvious what it means not only to the church but to the community of East Budleigh and beyond. We are proud to sponsor the Art Preview and the Venue Trail and look forward to seeing all the scarecrows on display”.

To visit the Scarecrow Festival, head to East Budleigh on Saturday 8th June 11am – 5pm or Sunday 9th June 2019 11am – 4pm.
