Congratulations to Susan Hein-Griggs

9th November 2020

At Gilbert Stephens Solicitors we have a long tradition of encouraging the ambitions of our staff and supporting their professional development. We would like to congratulate Susan Hein-Griggs for her recent qualification as a Chartered Legal Executive.

Susan joined Gilbert Stephens in 2015 and works at our Exeter office in the private client department, specialising in wills, powers of attorney and estate administration. She obtained an Honours degree in English Literature from Ohio State University, which included studying for a year at the University of York. Last year, she achieved Graduate status with the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and is now Chartered.

Legal executives are trained to a very high standard and are responsible for many legal tasks that are also undertaken by solicitors. Legal executives usually specialise in a particular area of law, so when you meet with a legal executive you can be sure that you are talking to someone who has in depth and current knowledge of the legislation and options that are relevant to your case.

Susan told us, “I am very pleased to have qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive. It’s taken a lot of time and effort! I appreciate that Gilbert Stephens has supported me in the process and allowed me to progress in my career. My colleagues have also been encouraging and supportive throughout, especially my supervisor Jamilah Evans, for which I’m very grateful.”

We are very proud that Susan is continuing her career – now as a qualified Chartered Legal Executive – with Gilbert Stephens Solicitors. Richard Walford, Head of the Private Client Department says, “this is a significant achievement for Susan, and it is great to be able to say “well done” for reaching that goal. It’s always a pleasure to see colleagues progressing to the next stage of their legal career, not just for their sake but also for what that adds to the firm. Susan has worked hard to become a Chartered Legal Executive and we hope she will continue to be an increasingly valuable member of our team for many years to come.”
