Okehampton Show

Last Thursday, Gilbert Stephens Solicitors had an absolutely fantastic day at the 112^th Okehampton Agricultural Show. The Okehampton Show is one of largest one-day agricultural shows in Devon with over 200 trade stands and exhibitors, equine and livestock shows, delicious local food and drink in the Food Hall, children’s entertainment and shopping in the Craft Hall. The firm were proud to be ticket sponsors and road sign sponsors of the Okehampton Show this year.

Our stand really stood out this year as it was adorned with an incredible balloon garland which trailed across the front of our marquee. We were exceptionally lucky with the weather and many visitors were grateful for a cold glass of Pimm’s, pasties from local bakers Endacotts, cream teas and other refreshments while the children were excited to receive one of our bright green balloons and even more delighted to get their face painted by our fantastic face painter.

Staff at the firm thoroughly enjoyed meeting locals and tourists and catching up with lots of new and existing clients. With pop music playing and children dancing, it was a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The stand certainly attracted much attention, even from the judges who came in and sat down for a chat and some light refreshments. With such a high standard of trade stands and exhibitors that we saw yesterday, we were extremely thrilled to discover later in the afternoon that we had won first prize for ‘Best Trade Stand’!

A great show of staff from across all six offices joined in with the fun including; Terry Bastyan, Managing Partner; James Bastyan, IT Manager; Linda Jewell, Legal Assistant; Carolyn McAndrew, Chartered Legal Executive; Wyatt Loake, Financial Services Manager; Dana Mulligan, Marketing Manager; Sarah Judd, Practice and HR Manager and Martin Pratley, Solicitor.

Terry Bastyan, Managing Partner, said “we feel firmly rooted within the Okehampton community having resided here for over two years now. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and spirits were high. We would like to say a big thank you to our clients and everyone who came to see us and hope that everyone enjoyed all we had on offer at our stand this year”.
