Okehampton Edwardian Evening10th December 2019
Last Thursday 5th December from 6pm to 9pm, Gilbert Stephens Solicitors were delighted to participate in the annual, much-anticipated Edwardian Evening event at the Red Lion Yard in Okehampton. We thoroughly enjoyed dressing up in festive costumes and handing out mince pies, mulled wine and chocolates to all who attended.
This year, Gilbert Stephens had a stall directly outside our new premises in Red Lion Yard. Representing the firm at this event was Emma Bellamy, Legal Assistant; Linda Jewell, Legal Assistant, and Martin Justice, Solicitor, who was dressed appropriately as Father Christmas.
Emma says “It was a very enjoyable, lively evening in Red Lion Yard which offered the opportunity to chat to many new people over a mince pie and mulled wine. It’s great to be able to get involved in such a fantastic community event”.
The Edwardian Evening, organised by Everything Okehampton, is an opportunity for people to look for Christmas gifts as most shops in the town stay open late. The evening features a variety of live music, street vendors, and carol singers along with many other festive activities. Anita Frost, the author of Green Bean and Friends Children’s books, visited The Toy Shop and gave two story telling sessions for all children at the event. Father Christmas and a couple of his Reindeers even greeted us with their presence in the Yard, whilst Jack Frost entertained crowds and made the town snow!
We had a fantastic time celebrating the start to Christmas in Okehampton and look forward to the Edwardian Evening again next year.
