Keeping Business Local at the September Exeter Property Circle Event

13th September 2019

Yesterday, Thursday 12th September, Gilbert Stephens Solicitors attended the Exeter Property Circle bimonthly networking event at the stunning period tavern, Hole in the Wall. Martin Justice, our newest employee, Private Client Solicitor from our Crediton and Okehampton office, represented the firm alongside Partner and Head of our Exeter Commercial Department, Nigel McKay. They both thoroughly enjoyed catching up with old and existing contacts.

The Exeter Property Circle was set up to offer networking opportunities for property experts within the Exeter area and the initiative attracts more and more professionals in the property market at every event. It was a fantastic evening for the committee last night as they hosted another great turn out! Businesses came from across Devon to meet new contacts and build connections in the heart of the City.

On this occasion, the Exeter Property Circle were thrilled that Donna Lyndsay, European Space Agency UK Regional Ambassador, was their guest speaker. Donna sparked interesting conversation regarding the connection between outer space and property.

Next up, Andy Payne, National Business Development Executive at Northcott Beaton and Committee Member of the Exeter Property Circle, welcomed Simon Scott-Nelson and Simon Murthwaite to the stage to talk about their new initiative to keep business local, Tribe. Tribe is a collaboration between Air Marketing Group, Exeter City Council, Exeter Live Better and Exeter Chamber of Commerce which aims to reduce the amount of B2B trade that leaves the City. The project is aiming to create over 500 jobs and increase prosperity in Exeter. Tribe are hoping to keep £25 million within the City which would have otherwise been spent in national trade.

Martin Justice praises Tribe as “an excellent initiative for Exeter”, saying, “buying local is a prospect which appeals to everyone. Exeter is a fantastic City and it deserves to be rewarded”.

Congratulations to Arianne Smart from Kor Communications for winning the raffle! Arianne was fortunate to win four leisure passes at the Exeter Golf and Country Club, kindly donated by Northcott Beaton.
