Gilbert Stephens donates to the local Food Banks

18th December 2020

This Christmas, Gilbert Stephens Solicitors were proud to support the local food banks in all six office locations: Exeter, Budleigh Salterton, Crediton, Ottery St Mary, Okehampton and Sidmouth. For 12 days in December staff donated a specific food item which varied from biscuits, jams and spreads to Christmas treats and food for pets.

Despite many of our staff still working remotely and not being in the offices at one given time, we had an abundance of donations and the boxes were overflowing with items.  It was wonderful for our team to come together during the festive period and donate to such hard-working and much needed local organisations. Food banks are a resource that is needed more and more, in particular this year with many families losing their income. We are pleased to be able to give back to our local communities, providing these food parcels to individuals and families who are struggling this Christmas.

Terry Bastyan, Managing Director at Gilbert Stephens said “This was a fantastic initiative for us to get involved, 2020 has been an extremely challenging year and we wanted to offer what contributions we could as a firm.  For so many this year has been a struggle and we hope these donations will help in some way to making for a happier Christmas for those in need”.

If you are interested in donating to a foodbank or if you are in need of a food package you can find details of your local one here. They will be able to advise the best way to support them and how to access their food packages.
