Gilbert Stephen sponsors The Sound of Music

18th May 2022

We are delighted to have sponsored this year’s CODS production of The Sound of Music. Our team attended the show on 20th April and were treated to a thoroughly enjoyable experience, it really was a fantastic performance.

This classic musical tells the story of Maria, a young nun who is sent to work as a governess for the von Trapp family. As she teaches the children how to sing, she also brings joy and love back into the lives of their father, Captain von Trapp.

Catherine Rosewell attended and said “”This performance of The Sound of Music will be one that I will remember. The energy of the cast and musicians was truly infectious, captivating me with every note and movement.”

Dana Mulligan who also attended added “The music was beautiful, the sets and costumes were stunning, and the actors and actresses give it their all.  This is my all-time favourite musical and CODS certainly did it justice, I am still singing!”

CODS started in 1964 as Crediton Operatic Society. In 1972 the name changed to Crediton Operatic and Dramatic Society, giving the initials that form the group’s name today. Over the years there has been much success with musicals, plays and concerts.  There performances have seen many highlights and we are sure there will be more in this next production!
