Congratulations to Conall Ryan, recently qualified as Fellow of Agricultural Law Association

28th February 2020

At Gilbert Stephens Solicitors, we are always eager to promote and encourage the career development of our staff. We are therefore delighted to announce that Conall Ryan, Chartered Legal Executive from our Crediton office, has recently qualified as a Fellow of the Agricultural Law Association.

Conall has over fifteen years of legal experience and specialises in Private Client matters such as full estate administration, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Inheritance Tax planning, trusts and Court of Protection work. As well as being a fully accredited member of Solicitors for the Elderly, and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), Conall is the first member of staff across all our six offices to achieve this qualification.

The rigorous final examination addresses many, varied problems to include arable and livestock farming, tenanted farms, woodlands, minerals, and other issues such as diversification, commercial business negotiation and compulsory purchase. The Fellowship acknowledges that Conall is highly proficient in agricultural holdings, land law, estate planning, taxation, Town and Country planning, Common Agricultural Policy and post-Brexit implications for future Estate/Farm strategy.

Conall says “I am delighted to have gained my Fellowship of the Agricultural Law Association. This has now broadened my knowledge of the overall issues that affect our agricultural industry for both landowners and tenant farmers. It also enables me to keep up to date on developments within this changing and important area of the law to assist our clients”.

If you have any questions in relation to Agricultural Law, estate administration, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Inheritance Tax Planning, trusts, Court of Protection work, or anything else, get in touch with Conall for specialist advice on or call 01363 775566.
