Adam Tompkins is raising money for Dementia UK

24th May 2022

Adam Tompkins, a Conveyancing Executive working from our Sidmouth office, is walking 100 miles in May to raise money for Dementia UK. He has chosen this charity following his Grandfather’s diagnosis of Vascular Dementia and Alzheimer’s.

“It’s a challenge, but it’s nothing compared to what people with dementia and their families go through every day,” he says. “I want to do something to help, and this seemed like a good way to do it.   While this is not an insurmountable mission, it is definitely a real challenge!”

If any of you would like to donate a small sum to Dementia UK via the link above it would really help spur Adam on!  Almost one million people in the UK suffer with dementia and/or Alzheimers, any contribution would certainly be very much appreciated and will go to really good use helping those living with dementia.

Dementia UK is a specialist Dementia and Alzheimer’s nursing charity that provides support for people living with dementia, they say “Our nurses are here when people need help. They have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems. As dementia specialists, Admiral Nurses help families manage complex needs – considering the person living with dementia and the people around them – and they can advise other healthcare professionals.

For families affected by dementia, they can be a lifeline.

When people are struggling, our nurses help them take back control. They help people living with dementia to stay independent for longer, and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days.”
