Gilbert Stephens Staff Experience the Gift of Giving

12th December 2015

Here at Gilbert Stephens, we do like to get into the festive spirit of giving to those less fortunate than ourselves, and this year is no exception.

We would like to say a big thank you to all our members of staff who have been collecting suitable items – from toothpaste to toys and everything in between – to donate to impoverished children in Moldova via Kenton Primary School.

Thanks to a connection with Senior Solicitor, Helen Clegg, we have been working alongside pupils from the school to support Devon charity, Christian Response to Eastern Europe (CR2EE). We are delighted to report that we have now sent 37 gift-wrapped shoeboxes, filled to brimming with goodies galore.

As well as a range of toiletries, toys, writing materials and sweets donated by the staff, we were also grateful to Julian Purdy at DCS for kindly donating some stationery supplies. Gilbert Stephens also helped to cover the cost of transportation.

Over the years, CR2EE’s Christmas Shoebox Appeal has become increasingly popular locally. This is largely due to the fact that the charity is able to ensure every box is given appropriately, whether a general shoebox to a child in one of the charity’s Soup Kitchens or a Christmas Shoebox that has been prepared for a specific child.
